What AdOppo is
AdOppo is a political advertising intelligence platform. It reports on political advertisers — organizations and campaigns that buy ads — using data those platforms publish through their own transparency programs. This policy covers what we collect about you, a person using the site.
Information we collect about you
Account information. If you have a login: your email address, optional display name, a securely hashed password (we never store the password itself), your team assignment, and your display preferences (such as light or dark mode).
Usage basics. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — which we use for security, debugging, and capacity planning.
Cookies. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a preference cookie for your theme. That's the complete list: AdOppo has no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, and no analytics beacons.
We do not collect payment information — AdOppo has no billing. We do not ask for, and you should not submit, any sensitive personal information.
How we use it
To operate your account and team access; to send the emails the product exists to send (login invitations, and — for subscribed users — alerts and weekly digests about advertiser activity); to secure and improve the service. That's all. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build profiles of you.
Service providers
We rely on a small set of vendors to run the service, each receiving only what their role requires: Render (application and database hosting), Resend (transactional email delivery — they process recipient addresses and message content), and Google Cloud (retrieval of Google's public political ads dataset; no user data is involved). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments.
About the advertiser data we publish
The spend figures, creatives, and targeting descriptions shown on AdOppo come from Meta's Ad Library and Google's Political Advertising Transparency Report — public datasets those companies publish about political advertisers, which by their nature describe organizations and public political activity rather than private individuals. Where exact figures aren't disclosed, AdOppo derives labeled estimates from the platforms' published ranges. Figures are as reported by the platforms and may be restated by them. AdOppo is not affiliated with Meta or Google. If you represent an advertiser and believe our derived figures misstate the platforms' published data, contact us and we'll review.
Retention and deletion
Account information is kept while your account is active. When an account is removed, its personal information is deleted from the live database promptly; residual copies in encrypted backups age out on the backup rotation schedule. Server logs are retained on our hosting provider's standard short rotation. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, email us at the address below — we will act on verified requests within 30 days.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS); production data access is limited to RMET personnel who operate the service. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface small: the less we collect, the less there is to protect.
Children
AdOppo is a professional tool, not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and the date above; for significant changes affecting account holders, we'll email you.
